The first Nepalese researcher to be accredited with PhD under Japanese government fellowship (Monbukagakusho) in the field of Ethno-genetics from the University of Tokyo, Japan in 2002. He has already supervised about 35 dissertations of MSc students on Ethno biology of 30 different Nepalese ethnic groups, international seminars/conferences and consultative meetings.
He has also received two gold medals and one “Young Talent Scientist Award in 2005” in Nepal. Beside this, he is working at central department of zoology and also teaches molecular biology and climate change. Likewise, he was a visiting professor at china’s college of medicine, Henan University, People’s Republic of China from september 2005- July 2006. Similarly, Japan’s Tohuku University of Arts & Design, Yamagata Japan in 1997 and Nagoya University on March 2011. He also served as a visiting professor of Kangwon National University of South Korea.
